At Home in Wisconsin

Hello to all,

Dear Friends and Family,

I had a wonderful 65th birthday week. Mary and I went to Chicago on Thurs. and had dinner with her daughter Cara, Jay and grandson Baird. We had Chicago pizza (a treat when you live in WI), and my first birthday cake. We spent the next several days with Tom and Betty, and ate in on Sat. with a lovely dinner and a birthday cake made by Mary. We had dinner out Sat. nite with family at a cajun place. Sunday we went to a Park forest home for a cookout with friends from Tom's food group and his neighbors. Park Forest was planned as an integrated community after WWII, coops with common space, and has retained its character, We appreciate the warmth and hospitality and good food.

We came home on Monday, my actual birthday, and were treated to a wonderful dinner and an architectural tour of Madison's west side by Pam Phillips Olson (An old friend from my childhood on Staten Island) and her husband Stephen. After our walk we had the second birthday cake Mary had made. In the week before and since, I have had 2 racquetball games cancelled and one tennis game and I need to work off some of these calories! good thing I turn 65 only once. All week I have been getting wonderful cards, greeting, appreciations and pictures from many of you. Mary organized that effort and has been collecting these pieces and putting them in a book for me. I don't make much of a fuss over my birthdays and this has been quite a treat. But lets not do another big one before 75. Thank you for your participation. And thank you for being in my life. Even if you did not participate actively I thought of and appreciated you.

Love,
Don
