Christmas Disney Trip -

We travelled down to Disney World in December. Martha decided we needed a vacation, period. Well, it was 27 hours down there on the Greyhound (also 27 hrs back), a long time to spend in a moving tin can with 53 others. However, there was no way we could beat the price. There are still a lot of people travelling on the Greyhound - there were 2 or 3 buses running the route, and they were full.

We stayed at the brand new Pop Century Hotel, one of the value resorts on the Disney property. A nice place - real luxury when compared to camping. A perk of staying on the property was the free use of the Disney transportation system - we rode the Disney bus system all over the place. At the parks, the buses drop you off at about the same point as the tram that runs a good distance out to the parking lots.

We visited the Disney-MGM Studios, the famous Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and the Animal Kingdom. We rode all the tamer rides, leaving the wilder ones to the more adventuresome crowd. Plus, we rode on all of the monorails and the ferry to the magic kingdom. We took a side adventure to 'Downtown Disney' to see the Cirque Du Soliel (La Nouba) and look at all the shops. The shows were pretty good. After seeing the high quality Disney fireworks, the junk they blow up here at the 4th of July will never look the same. We did a lot of walking, and looking, and ate well.

It was a nice relaxing 8 days.
