Posted from Sanibel Island, Florida

Every day the weather people promise an improvement, but if it's an improvement it's hard to notice. I did see today that they are saying that this high pressure over Texas is causing a stream of air down from the north that's making our conditions so cool. The winds between 10 and 15 mph are not helping. However, the big improvement in temps will come this weekens with we climb back into the 70s and that will greatly improve things. We'll keep you posted.

As usual we spent the morning inside with the heat on waiting for things to warm up outside. The sunshine is plenty bright and if it were not for the cool wind it would be plenty nice.

After lunch we headed out for our usual walk, Mrs. Gerrie determined to walk all the way to the light house at the far east end of the island. We're not sure how far that might be but I'm thinking at least two miles, making the trip a four mile stroll. I increased by distance to a little over a mile today. Thats a good increase for me. My walking improves a little each day.

I was back in the condo before Mrs. Gerrie finished her walk. I was settled in front of the computer when the phone rang. It was our cousin over in Ft. Myers who said that Stay (husband) had come down with what seemed to be flu-like symptoms and that perhaps it would be best if Mary (Gerrie's Mom) was not there to catch whatever he might have. We immediately got on our horse and drove over to whisk her to the Island. We used the opportunity to pick up some additional provisions and fuel. Things are a bit more expensive over here, especially food. We do have two grocery stores but the selection is not as good and the prices will always be 10% higher.

Hugs,
Jerry & Gerrie
