Posted from Heritage Palms, Ft. Myers, Florida

It's moving day for us. Yes, it's the day that we leave Sanibel Island. Up early, Mrs. Gerrie made it down to the water to see the sun come up (not much sun today) and we had a hurried breakfast and reaadied our posessions for a quick move out. Mrs. Gerrie has all our stuff pretty much organized and we had the car packed and we were ready to go in about 30 minutes. We had to drop off the keys before 10am, and we were actually early with that little duty. Then we headed down Periwinkle for the last time this year, past the Island Cow, past the DQ and Matzaluna's, then left onto Causeway Road, the brige and back to the mainland. I took photos all the way across as I've done many times in the past.

We wanted to stop for lunch at Jason's Deli, but were sort of early by the time we arrived...So we just drove to our new place at Heritage Palms, then waited until it was closer to lunch time before we went back out. We also had to pick up food for the next few days. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that we also picked up 5 gallons of drinking water. No one drinks the water from the tap here. I'm not sure that it tastes bad but it has a very heave chlorine smell and taste. Likely that's what everyone buys filtered water.

We made it to Jason's after getting lost only one time. We love eating there and go as often as we can. Then it was back to our condo to discuss who was getting which bedrooms, etc. After checking the beds Mom decided that she would rather stay over at Janet's place. She said the bed was more to her liking. Can't say that I blame her...our beds are very hard...Mrs. Gerrie and I put our 2" foam pads on the beds as quickly as possible. That makes it much more to our liking.

Hugs,
Jerry & Gerrie
